Wayne Hill

Two major influences in Wayne's early years shaped his future: his family's immersion in art, and his summers in Maine. He learned that the power of art will influence the feelings of people. Wayne spent summers in Seal Cove, Maine. He roamed the waters and forests of Acadia National Park. These childhood experiences imprinted his head and heart with a passion for unspoiled nature. After graduating from Dartmouth, Wayne spent invaluable time with the revered photographic artist Ansel Adams in Yosemite. Adams has remained a powerful influence of Wayne's art. He became familiar with most of America's magnificent national parks, investing hundreds of weeks hiking, exploring, and making photographs. This time has made him a lifelong believer in the power of nature to nurture those who are confined in healthcare facilities. Many of his images can be reviewed at www.HILLArt.com. He has a split personality: an environmental psychologist by training and an artist at heart. It is his respect for the calming power of nature that guide his art creation. He loves to guide clients on fine art photography that will enhance the patient and visitor experience. He built his fine art business to be nationwide, having served most of the Fortune 100 firms and dozens of hospitals. Wayne's art has reduced stress for health care staff—and improved employee retention. He uses art to make hospitals pleasant for patients, staff and visitors who often need an antidote to stress or bland interiors. His leisure interests include international travel, swing dancing, wine and gourmet cooking, instructing blind skiers, hot air ballooning and music. Fran Reisner

Fran Reisner, an international award winning photographer, has a passion for capturing the beauty of this world in her images.  After earning her BA degree in Commercial Photography from Brooks Institute located in Santa Barbara California in 1985, Fran operated a successful photography business in the San Francisco Bay area for a number of years. When life took her to Texas in 1997, she re-established herself in what would become a highly acclaimed portrait/wedding studio in the Dallas area. There she is best known for the innovative style of her imagery, bringing out a sense of warmth and sensitivity in her portraits, creating storytelling images… always delightful to the eye, as well as the heart and soul.

As a means of staying true to her art, Fran nurtures her passion with a periodic “journey of discovery”. In the fall of 2006 her journey led her to Italy, where she captured the grace and beauty of this country in evocative studies of light and shadow. A number of these images can be found in her first book, A Personal Renaissance, a limited edition, self published coffee table book. Her second book, The Dogs of Central Park,  published by Rizzoli Universe, was released in the spring of 2011 to rave reviews. Fran dedicated this book to “all those who give so selflessly of their time and efforts on behalf of the millions of helpless animals around the globe,” and donates part of the proceeds from every book purchased directly through her to animal rescue organizations.

Fran’s journeys have taken her to many foreign places, but recently she has been wandering closer to home. Home being all over the US. With a few precise destinations in mind she meanders from one to the next with her dogs, Jazzy and Sadie, discovering and photographing the amazing diversity and beauty of our country. While traveling she is working on more books in her dog series, as well as journaling her adventures and images from the road on her blog site www.JourneyInFocus.com

Fran has been honored with her Photographic Master and Craftsman degrees, has won numerous national and international awards for her work, has been awarded three times as Dallas Photographer of the Year, and was honored as one of Canon's elite “Explorers of Light”. She is an international speaker, has been published in more than 50 books and magazines and has been featured on both Good Day Dallas and Good Morning Texas. www.franreisner.com

Amalia Elena Veralli

A native New Yorker, I have called Vermont my home for more than 35 years.  My photographic journey began in a black and white darkroom.   For the past ten years my main focus has been on nature, especially flowers.  www.amaliaphotography.com

I believe all beauty is meant to draw us to the creator, to fill our lives with serenity and purpose and to nourish, inspire and strengthen us. Often when photographing a flower, I’m aware of being transported to another realm in which my heart opens more fully to the heart of God.  My passion is to portray the otherworldly beauty of creation in my photographs and share that experience with others.

Observing the amazing intricacy of flowers requires time we don’t often take. But doing so can open one’s soul in celebration.  It can awaken in us the beauty that is an important part of our own innermost spirit, our true nature.  It can reveal the divine mystery and wisdom that mirrors hope and goodness in our world.

It leads to transformation!

Kim Baker

A Denver native, I grew up appreciating the great outdoors. Studied art throughout high school and college, but didn't get into photography until the late 1990's, early 2000's. I started as the designated family vacation photographer, where I worked mostly with landscapes and wildlife. I studied composition and tried different techniques. Many people suggested I try to sell my photographs as greeting cards. After attending a Conservation Photography Workshop in the Fall of 2014, I discovered this type of storytelling is where my heart and passion thrives. I received the Colorado Nature Conservancy Photo of the Month award for February 2015, and was a Semi-Finalist in the 2014 Share the View Contest through the Audubon Society of Denver. My other passion and work revolves around horses, animals, yoga, and holistic healing methods. I am an internationally recognized author, photographer, speaker, and clinician. I hold a BS in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Arizona, and a MS in Integrated Sciences from the University of Colorado. My unique understanding and connection with the animals translates into my photography work. I strive to capture the true essence of a place, being, or animal. Learn more at www.KimBakerMedia.com

Eileen Muldoon

Eileen is a fine arts photographer living and working in Jamestown, RI. Her photographic style has been described as painterly, but she prefers to attribute her style to the gift that photography has given her to see the world with the eyes of an artist. She uses natural light as a means to express emotion.

Cartier–Bresson knew when he captured the "decisive moment" in his street photography. Eileen too, has expressed the joy of capturing that moment, but in a very different manner. Her "decisive moment" is when she feels she loses herself to her subject & knows there is a complete union. She believes that her finest images all share that moment.

When Eileen is not working on her art, she is teaching photography at local, regional and international workshops. Her work has been exhibited at Newport Art Museum, The Providence Art Club, Mystic Arts Center and numerous galleries throughout New England and New York. Additionally, Eileen has had two books published and is currently working on her third. www.imageloftphoto.com

Joan Cooke

Joan Cooke is a San Diego native whose interest in photography began in the year 2000 when her husband gave her one of those new-fangled digital cameras with a whopping 2.5 megapixels. Since then Joan has learned a few things by taking numerous photo workshops and sharing time with accomplished fellow photographers. "My photography is about finding and recording beauty in nature, and exploring different ways of seeing ordinary things. I also love the special view from above and am privileged to have regular opportunities to photograph the earth from this vantage point.

Ilene Meyers

Beauty surrounds us.  My goal as a photographer is to capture that beauty and share it with other people.  When I am out in nature in the early morning for sunrise or late in the evening at sunset, I marvel at what appears before me.  I forget about time and space as I work to gather my images.  Photography is a meditative experience for me.

I live in Colorado where I have ample opportunities to hike and capture scenes in beautiful places.  I have the good fortune to travel to wonderful locations in the USA and around the world to gather my images.  I continue to be amazed by the gifts that nature gives to us.

It is my wish that my photographs will help bring peace, tranquility, hope and happiness to anyone who sees them.  To view more of my work, please visit my website: www.ilenemeyers.com.

Lynn McDowell

Working in wild bird rehabilitation lead Lynn on the path to photography. With the privilege of daily caring for the wild birds, she came to appreciate each as an individual and developed an intimate relationship with the natural world.  Her photography comes from this gratitude and reverence.

Needing another way to connect with nature after leaving her wildlife work, Lynn found photography.  Once again she was immersed in the awe and wonder of the natural world. Photography inspires her creativity and spirit; being outside, finding beauty, watching the quality of light, or sharing a moment in the life of a bird, insect or plant.  Sometimes an image will be a quick “catch it if you can” but she loves spending time creating a picture by getting to know the life around her.   Watching this ever changing synergy of light, life and their surroundings, Lynn appreciates how essential each is to the other’s wellbeing.  She shoots to include this interconnection in her images.  When shooting, it is important for her to be an observer and not disturb the surrounding life but to watch for the gifts of the moment. Living in the mid-atlantic area, her work primarily focuses on this varied beautiful region but includes other areas of the country as well.  Through her fine art photography, she loves the opportunity to share and connect with our amazing natural world.  www.lynnmcdowell.photoshelter.com

Charles is especially interested in how the craft of nature photography itself can be a "meditative practice" and therapeutic tool.  In 1995, he was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, having been completely bed-ridden for a year, and made a full recovery, in large part, from discovering his passion for photography.

In 2000, Charles produced a soothing and relaxing DVD, entitled The Healing Power of Nature: Visual Therapy for Stress Reduction & Wellness, which plays in more than 200 healthcare facilities nationwide.

Scott Mead

Based on the island of Maui in Hawaii, Scott Mead started his photographic career early:  At the age of seven, during a Hawaiian family vacation, his grandfather presented him with a small Kodak Instamatic camera, a hand full of film cartridges, and told him to have fun. Some 30-plus years later, he’s still having fun, trudging deep into bamboo forests, climbing lava formations and hanging out of helicopters to capture some of Hawaii’s most dramatic landscapes.

As a fine art nature photographer, author and educator. Scott is considered a virtuoso at the use and manipulation of light in the camera, carefully selecting his subjects and locations to optimize the ever-changing luminosity and atmospheric conditions the Islands present. Tempered by patience and uncanny timing, Scott’s images depict an intense variation of light, fluidity and motion, capturing the pure essence and mana of Hawai’i through the lens. Brenda Tharp

Brenda Tharp is an award-winning photographer, writer, a passionate workshop and tour leader, and inspirational speaker. She lives in Sonoma County, CA. Her fine art photographs are in private collections across the USA.

Through her photographs, Brenda strives to express the awe and wonder that she experiences when in the field.

“I love waking up early to capture the mist rising on the lake, or to witness the rainbow of dawn's colors as they are painted across the sky. A great photo takes planning, preparation and a bit of luck and timing, but it still feels like a wonderful gift when I'm out there and it all comes together in my picture.”

She cares deeply about the environment and using her photography to bring about positive changes. Her photographs have been widely published in books and magazines and continue to be licensed by advertising, corporate, and paper product clients.

Brenda presently devotes more time to creating fine art photographs, teaching, speaking and writing. She is the author of three photography books, most recently Expressive Nature Photography. Brenda regularly conducts workshops and leads international and domestic photography tours.

Bren Slade

Bren Slade has been a professional photographer for over 20 years and recently found her true love and passion in whimsical illustrated children's photography, capturing the world of childhood imagination.  An MA candidate at Falmouth University her current project highlights children that are facing extreme childhood adversity, representing their resilience and hope through carefully constructed fine art images. With experience working with children in public schools, as well as being a mother of five, she counts each image she creates as a treasured childhood moment frozen in time.

Louise Shoemaker

Louise Shoemaker has been fascinated with photography since the moment her dad allowed her into the tiny garage closet darkroom in her childhood home in Santa Fe. Her love of the medium is a lifelong passion, which bloomed in retirement to a benign addiction. Most months find her in beautiful scenery with close friends and a camera or three. Cultivating an active eye and a quiet spirit, she allows the serenity of nature to flow through the lens and into her mind. Then she attempts to translate the peace into pixels on paper and shares it.
